Naveen Subramaniam, based in Singapore, is Managing Director & Head of Structured and Trade Export Finance APAC for Intesa Sanpaolo Bank. As part of his responsibilities, Naveen is responsible for developing the ECA Financing, Supply Chain and Receivables Finance, Inventory Financing and Financial Institutions products for the bank in the Asia Pacific region. Naveen has well over 20 years of Banking and Finance experience in the Asia Pacific region. After training to be a Chartered Accountant with KPMG India, Naveen started his banking career with Citibank in Corporate and Institutional Banking in India before moving to Barclays Capital in Singapore. A significant part of Naveen’s banking career was with Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore where he held various roles within the Commodities and Agribusiness Coverage team for ASEAN and South Asia, eventually ending up as the Industry Head for the region. During his time at Standard Chartered, Naveen managed strategic client relationships in the APAC region across Trade, Lending, Debt Capital Markets and Structured funding. Post Standard Chartered, Naveen joined the Treasury team at Olam International Limited, a Temasek-owned SGX listed Agribusiness company. In Olam, Naveen managed all aspects of Treasury – Debt, Equity, Capital Markets, Structured Products and funding solutions across Fixed and Working Capital including Supply Chain and Receivables Financing. Naveen worked on several Sustainability-linked financing solutions at Olam and was also a member of the company’s Digitization Task Force, a cross functional task force focusing on the application of emerging technologies for digitizing treasury, trade finance, supply chain and other operations of the company.
