Selim R. F. Hussain is a career banker with over 34 years’ experience in South Asian financial institutions. He worked for twenty four years with the two largest multi-national banks in Bangladesh - ANZ Grindlays Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. In 2010, Selim moved to the IDLC Finance Group, a local company, the largest Non-Banking Financial Institution in Bangladesh. In end 2015, Selim joined BRAC Bank Limited as the Managing Director and CEO. He has resided and worked in India and Australia for significant periods of his career and has held senior roles in the finance function for Standard Chartered Bank in South Asia as CFO in Bangladesh and Head of Finance and Strategy for the Consumer Banking Division in India. Selim was Managing Director of IDLC Finance Limited from 2010 to 2015 end and was also the Chairman of IDLC Investment Limited and IDLC Securities Limited.
Selim has been a Director at the Credit Rating Agency of Bangladesh (CRAB) and the Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Leasing and Finance Co Association (BLFCA). He currently serves on the Governing Board of the Association of Banks in Bangladesh.
Selim graduated from Dhaka University – from where he has an Honors degree in Accounting from the Business Faculty and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration. He loves travelling, trying out different cuisine and is a passionate Cricket and Football enthusiast.
