Global Leader, Mobile Payments and Blockchain Financial Services Sector - IBM
Allison Baller is IBM’s Business Development Leader for Blockchain engagements in the Financial Services Sector. She has global responsibility for business development of IBM’s universal payment systems solution which will leverage Blockchain to support a universal network for real-time clearing and settlement. The interoperable network will support multiple digital assets, initially focusing on cash, cross-border payments and foreign exchange. Prior to her current role, Ms. Baller was IBM’s Global Leader for Mobile Payments where she focused on building new business models, driving innovative deals and establishing key technology partnerships in collaboration with a cross- industry ecosystem of players in Financial Services, Telecommunications, Retail, and Government. Through client engagements across Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Asia Pacific and many of the developed markets, Allison has launched new mobile payment innovations globally, and worked closely with clients to accelerate the transformation from cash to digital payments. Ms. Baller has nearly two decades of professional experience at IBM, where she has held various roles in business development, offering management and consultative sales. She has received several IBM leadership awards for outstanding achievements in marketing, sales, and the launch of innovative initiatives in emerging markets. Allison holds an M.B.A. from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University with a concentration in Marketing & Strategy, and a B.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Virginia. Prior to IBM, Ms. Baller lived in Caracas, Venezuela where she worked for a multi-national insurance brokerage firm and traveled extensively throughout Latin America. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in conversational Portuguese, Allison has a passion for emerging markets and diverse cultures.
