Andrew Watkins-Ball is the founder and CEO of JUMO – a company that has built and operates a technology platform delivering digital financial services to individuals and small businesses in emerging markets. The company works with forward thinking banks and payments operators to to redefine the rules of wealth building through access to high quality financial choices.
So far more than 9 million customers in Africa and Asia have saved or borrowed on the platform. Roughly 70% of these are micro and small enterprises.
For close on a decade, Watkins-Ball has focused on the technology and financial services sectors, as well as venturing into the application of nanotechnology in the energy sector. Prior to this he successfully built and sold various businesses including Gateway Telecommunications, a satellite service provider that was purchased by Vodacom in 2008. He also spent seven years at Wall Street investment bank, Salomon Brothers in London and New York.
