Founding Partner - HCM Capital, Foxconn Technology Group
Mr. Lee is currently the Managing Director and acting CEO of FnConn (Foxconn Finance Platform) and Founding Managing Partner of HCM Capital, with previous over 10 years of experiences in financial industry, including equity investment, M&As, and corporate finance.
FnConn was established in 2013 and provides loans and other financing solutions to mainly Foxconn' suppliers and SME customers in the 3C electronic manufacturing industries, having obtained necessary business licenses from China government on factoring, financial leasing, small amount loans, financial guarantee, and financial information services, etc. During the past three years, Mr. Lee has led the team providing about CNY2 billion (approx.US$300mn) to about 200 SME customers in China.
HCM Capital, the main business of HCM International Co., originally standing for "Hon-hai Capital Management", is a Cayman-island registered company established in early 2013 and wholly owned subsidiary of Hon Hai (Foxconn‘s parent company); as a PE/VC arm of Foxconn, HCM’s primary business is to manage USD and RMB funds for investment, which primary focus on global Fintech space and selected Technology investments, such as mobile internet/O2O application, big data, IoT, and other technology services, etc. In addition to Foxconn’s own funds for investments overseas, Mr. Lee also manages a RMB fund in size of 300MM in China Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone. The past investments include participating in series A of a New-York based Digital Currency Group (DCG), participating in privatization of a leading CMOS player Omnivision from the US market, Series A equity investments in Juliye, a healthcare internet service platform, and A+ round equity investments in Shuabao, a consumer financing company in Shenzhen China and etc.
Mr. Lee joined Foxconn in 2007 and had been an investment director of FIH (Foxconn International Holdings) for 5 years, responsible for strategic investments and M&As for Foxconn corporate level, having led deals, such as equity investment in Ways Technical Corp., equity investment in Diabell (a precision components design company in Korea), and assisted setting up two China joint ventures with large European and American retailers, respectively, and a joint venture with BAIC Motor for a time-share rental of electric vehicles,…etc.
Before joining Foxconn, Mr. Lee had vast experiences in financial sector (investment banking and corporate finance), including years in Taiwan based Polaris Securities and Polaris Financial Group (director), JPMorgan (IBD), Citi (capital markets) and earlier years starting his career in P&G.
Mr. Lee received his MBA degree from UCLA (Anderson School of Management) in California and bachelor degree in business administration from National Taiwan University in Taiwan.
