Claire Hobbs is currently the Chief Treasurer at Bank Windhoek in Namibia. She has been in this role since 2008. Her primary mandate is the management of Liquidity and Market risk, part of which includes the issuance of Debt instruments to raise funding for the bank. Bank Windhoek is a regular issuer of Bonds into the Namibian and South African markets and in 2018 issued the first Green Bond in the Southern African region. In 2021 the bank issued the first Namibian Sustainability Bond and become a member of the Nasdaq Sustainable Bond network. Prior to moving to Namibia, Claire worked at Standard Bank South Africa in various roles within the Global market space, including Debt Issuance and Securitization.
