Senior Advisor and Head of Competence Center Financial Systems Development and Insurance - GIZ GmbH
David Bartocha is the Senior Advisor and Head of Competence Center, Financial Systems Development and Insurance of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. As an economist by profession David is currently heading the financial systems development team at Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ, in Germany. This includes topics such as green and inclusive finance, SME and agricultural finance and insurance. He focuses in particular on SME and start-up finance, including the use and promotion of alternative financial instruments such as crowdfunding.
Being fluent in English, Spanish and French, David has been involved in the development of financial systems development projects in countries such as Myanmar, Laos, Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Uganda, Rwanda, Costa Rica, and Sri Lanka, where he worked as an advisor for several years.
Before joining GIZ David worked with an investment management company, where he was part of the SANAD Fund for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and headed the technical assistance facility.
