Lázaro Campos is a management advisor and board member in innovative financial services ventures. He is co-founder of FinTechStage, a company specialized in the building of innovative and inclusive financial services ecosystems around the world.
Lázaro serves as an Independent Member of Bank of England's RTGS/CHAPS Board, Chairman of the Board of The ID Co (a start-up offering digital trust and online identity verification based on bank-account data), Advisor to Management of Payoneer Inc (an industry-leading global business payment platform), and Independent Non-Executive Director of Starling Bank.
He also served as Member of the Board Financial Crime Risk Committee of Standard Chartered Bank and Senior Executive Advisor of Booz | Allen | Hamilton’s Financial Services practice.
In 2014, he was appointed member of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Digital Financial Services (DFS) Platform Enablers group in support of financial inclusion for the poor.
Lázaro served as Chief Executive Officer of SWIFT, the global banking network, from April 2007 until July 2012 where he defined and led an aggressive strategy to re-position the company as a commercially driven, customer centric and efficient cooperative. He also launched an ambitious innovation program that positioned the company as a catalyst for innovation in the industry (Innotribe.com). Prior to that, he held diverse management positions at SWIFT including Business Development EVP and Marketing EVP among others.
Lázaro has over 30 years of experience in international financial services and ICT.
